Haiti 1
Haitian Summer Institute

Proudly celebrating its 22nd year in 2019, LACC's Haitian Summer Institute is held on Modesto Maidique Campus in Miami for four weeks and culminates with an optional two-week study abroad to Haiti.

Students participating in the Miami portion have two enrollment options: Accelerated Beginning Haitian Creole for the first half of the Miami portion and Accelerated Intermediate Haitian Creole for the final half of the Miami portion, or Accelerated Intermediate Haitian Creole for the first half of the Miami portion and Acceleration Advanced Haitian Creole for the final half. In addition to the Institute's intensive language courses, participants are introduced to Haitian history and culture through lectures in English and Haitian Creole

The study abroad is designed to further expose students to Haiti, its culture and its people through a highly-structured two-week trip to Haiti. The 2018 study abroad includes time in the bustling Port-au-Prince, as well as historic Cap Haitien, and beautiful Jacmel.

Housing is available on campus at an additional cost during the Miami portion. Participants will stay in a hotel during the study abroad portion.
